Like many others, I, too, have a cherished memory connected to handicrafts. My mother’s mother, Grandma, taught me how to crochet. I sat on Grandma’s lap as she held my hands and guided the hook. 🧡

I do not remember exactly when—perhaps through my miniature hobby, or perhaps even before that—crocheting became a passion. I crocheted always and everywhere, whenever it was possible. My particular area of interest was round doilies.

Below are some images of the doilies. Beneath the miniature rooms -link you will find a piece titled “My Beloved.” For it, I crocheted the curtains using sewing thread. I once calculated that they required approximately 340,000 stitches and 3,200 double crochets! 😄
