Blood Service ("Veripalvelu")
They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”).
Mark 15:22
This work began when I found the official Finnish Blood Service lapel pin at a flea market. The pin depicts a large drop of blood, inside which is the Finnish lion. The box in which the work has been made is also a flea market find. On the top of the box (that is, “toward heaven”) there was already a burned-in letter “C,” which for me, of course, represents Christ. The crosses are made of old iron nails. On the central cross there is a sign with burned edges bearing the geographical coordinates of Golgotha.

The Blood Service that embraces the whole world took place on the central cross of Golgotha 2,000 years ago. There Jesus Christ, after torture and mockery, was finally nailed to the cross through His hands and feet. He bore your sin burden and mine, and opened for us access to the Father’s home in heaven. The only way to get there, when our earthly dwelling here ceases to exist, is by accepting Jesus into your life and into your heart. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
