Trust

The painting Trust was created for an Africa-themed exhibition. While painting it, I had no idea that the white cow is, in African culture, the most valuable of all. After the exhibition, I heard from the organiser that the space had hosted a celebration by the local African community, and that someone had taken note of this detail.
 

This painting, too, was completed only after it was already hanging on the gallery wall! 😂 It was only then that I realised what it was still missing: the text, which I painted at the base of the tree. It reads Hebrews 11:1, which goes as follows:
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
